Jeff Griffin
Jeff started working in the dairy commodities industry in January 2019. Jeff is straight-shooting. He is focused on the good as well as the bad. He cares as much about your needs as much or more than you do.
Before you ask – No, Jeff is not a dog. But Elway’s mug is about as good as Jeff’s.
I am not afraid to have the difficult discussions and give good effort. Even in just a few years, I have experience in the up, down and squishy markets. Markets were fairly stable when I started and boom we hit COVID, followed by everything we are seeing today. Even though my background wasn’t in the dairy industry, I actively participated in other markets and at the end of the day it comes down to people and relationships. I have always surrounded myself with good people that know much more than I do and that combination seems to be a winner.
Conversations start with dairy ingredients, markets, timing and everything in and out of our and their control. We usually branch off into over/unders for the Sunday NFL games and/or run line versus money line on today’s MLB slate. Every once in a while, we get into College Football futures, mowing patterns/landscaping tips and vacation spots.
We have a core senior staff that knows their stuff and truly cares. I enjoy chatting with and meeting new customers and vendors. The world is very small and it is neat to create those new, long-term and mutually beneficial relationships.
We are who we are, here, there and everywhere. What you see is what you get consistently.
Travelling with my wife and our two boys, our goldendoodle (Sonic) and miniature schnauzer (Elway). The Washington State Cougars, Denver Broncos and Seattle Mariners, when I can stomach all of the mediocrity. Montana in general is near the top of the list and the quality of life that it offers including hiking to nearby peaks and kayaking on numerous lakes.
My previous professional chapter was as an owner/operator of a professional baseball franchise in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization for a number of years. My partners and I sold the franchise at the end of the 2018 season. Secondly, I am on a curling team and we are not that bad – with multiple regional Missoula championships and a trophy from a Bonspiel.

"In the prior chapter of my professional life, I had a strong personal/professional relationship with The Milky Whey and some of the folks here. After a handful of meetings, a desk and computer appeared with my name on it."
Dan Finch
Dan has worked in the dairy industry for 19 years. He helps senior buyers and business owners plan purchases by knowing the markets while also navigating events out of their control.
Dan is also not a dog but just look at how cute Phil is floating in his kayak.
I was interested in the challenge of building the international business and stayed for the people!
Brutal honesty
I have seen all markets (up/down and sideways) as well as many unforeseen events (droughts/recalls/pandemic!). Many companies have changed how they do business from just-in-time ordering to just-in-case but through it all, we have been able to continually offer product with minimal delays and predict the market adjustments many more times correctly than not!
We are a no-nonsense shop. We are the same people here and away from work which our customers immediately can see.
I live in Montana to enjoy what it has to offer. We ski, hunt, camp, fish when I’m not watching my sons compete in any given sports season!
My family has run a used bookstore for almost 40 years.

"I am lucky to work at a company where every single person genuinely cares about each other and as a result, wants to succeed and wants our customers to succeed."
